1. Information We Collect
When you create an account via Google, Microsoft, or GitHub SSO, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. When you use Diagrams.so, we collect: diagram prompts (to generate your diagrams), generated diagram files (stored in your workspace), uploaded .drawio files (when you import existing diagrams), and usage data (credits consumed, features used).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide the diagram generation service, manage your account and subscription, improve our AI prompts and service quality (using aggregated, anonymized data only), send transactional emails (welcome, billing, quota alerts), and comply with legal obligations.
3. AI and Your Data
Your prompts are sent to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate diagrams. These providers process your prompts according to their own data policies. We do not use your individual diagrams or prompts to train AI models. We may use anonymized, aggregated prompt patterns to improve our system prompts.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Database backups are encrypted and retained for 30 days.
5. Third-Party Services
We use: PropelAuth (authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Amazon SES (email), Anthropic and OpenAI (AI generation), AWS (infrastructure hosting). Each service processes data according to their published privacy policies.
6. Your Rights
You may: access your personal data, request deletion of your account and data, export your diagrams at any time, and opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise these rights, email privacy@diagrams.so.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. See our cookie consent banner for options.
8. Updates
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Last updated: February 2026.
