About This Architecture
NetApp cascade SnapMirror replication architecture spans three sites with sequential data protection across primary, secondary, and DR locations. Volume 1 on NetApp Cluster 1 replicates to Volume 2 on NetApp Cluster 2, which cascades to Volume 3 on NetApp Cluster 3 in the DR data center. This topology enables geographically distributed backup with RPO flexibility while minimizing WAN bandwidth from the primary site.
