About This Architecture
Event-driven emergency security system integrating VoIP 911 calls via Asterisk PBX and IoT alarms via MQTT, streaming all incidents through Redpanda for real-time dispatch to multiple terminals and command centers. Asterisk captures incoming calls from PSTN/VoIP networks, while Raspberry Pi MQTT clients relay house alarm sensors through Mosquitto broker—both feeding Redpanda's distributed event stream for low-latency fan-out to dispatch terminals, command center PCs, and monitoring dashboards. This architecture ensures incident data reaches multiple responders simultaneously while maintaining audit trails, reducing response time and eliminating single points of failure. The shared infrastructure layer provides defense-in-depth with IAM, WAF, API Gateway, HA Redpanda cluster, Redis caching, encrypted recordings storage, and centralized monitoring—critical for 24/7 availability and compliance in emergency services.
